Hung physique model Helmut Riedmeier
When being openly gay was dangerous for men throughout most of the world, it didn’t stop guys from enjoying adult content and making their own. In the 1950’s, 60’s and early 70’s much of this was done through “Physique” magazines and private collections of images sold in packs, through somewhat seedy means, such was the thinking at the time.
While many of the male models posing naked for a handful of photographers around the world were quite innocent seeming in their style and themes, there are some examples where the models weren’t shy at all about their appreciation for eroticism.
One such model was Helmut Riedmeier.
The German bodybuilder (who I believe is still living to this day) wasn’t the kind of young man to simply be naked and strike a pose for the cameras. There are numerous images of the hung physique model either semi or fully aroused, sometimes naked in the company of other men, even looking through what seems to be the kind of magazine his own naked images might appear in.

I don’t know if he ever came out, but I think it’s clear from many of the very personal images we see of him with his friends and in the company of photographers that he was more than a little inclined to enjoy the eroticism of the male body. Could it merely have been the excitement of nudity or an early example of what we now know as “bromance”? Perhaps, but I’m inclined to think that he was at least curious, or simply enjoying the male sexual camaraderie with his friends at the time.
Enjoy his photos and please let me know in the comments if you think there are any other men from this era we should be enjoying on the Hunk Magazine blog.
